Ever wish you could find the shortcut to working with children?

I’m Elishia Basner, and I’m here to help. As a consultant, writer, mother, speaker, and unwavering optimist, I’m dedicated to inspiring the social and emotional development of children. I take an all-encompassing approach to my work, helping adults to build relationships with children without resorting to yelling, threatening, or bribing. Having this kind of relationship can have a powerful, positive impact on both the adult and child. Let me show you how to make it happen.

For over 13 years, I have been helping people of all ages and backgrounds learn the principles and practices of emotional healing. My experience ranges from in-home counseling with at-risk children, managing a 24/7 women’s crisis center and teaching psychology to undergraduates, to working as a school counselor for nearly a decade with all grade levels from pre-K to college. I understand that people often don’t know what they don’t know, and it is my mission to help them develop attitudes, behaviors, and habits that promote a deeper understanding and better connection with children.

I am dedicated to helping people learn the skills they need to thrive, from the classroom to corporate settings. With an M.S. in the Science of School Counseling and a B.S. in Psychology, I currently work as a consultant and coach for those who have and work with children. I am passionate about trauma-informed education practices and coping strategies, and I strive to support my clients in their journey to success.
